Will Book Up Fast for May Holiday Weekend

So reserve now for May Holiday Weekend and Summer Season 2011 and don't be disappointed.

Hope everyone made it through the long, cold winter. It is starting to warm up now, all the snow is gone except for the odd pile here and there and the lake is almost free of all ice. I am starting the spring clean up and will be getting a few new fridges and stoves and furniture for some of the cottages where needed. Some painting will be done to outside of a few of the cottages and a new roof on Cottage 3 plus a multitude of other tasks. That all should keep us pretty busy for a month or so.

Heard the first loon call last night....what a welcome sound that was.

Spring will soon be here !

It's been a long,cold and snowy winter but spring will be here soon and the sun is finally starting to feel warm again. I am just itching to get out there and get the place ready for another wonderful season and am looking forward to seeing everyone again this summer.

We have been taking many bookings lately but there are still some weeks available so call soon
if you have been thinking of a stay here this season.

I would suggest making a reservation soon if you want a spot for May Long Weekend.

Cold,Cold and Snowy !!!!!

Hello Everyone.

It sure has been cold up here the last few days.....-32 the other morning, high of -24.
Today we are getting a light but constant snowfall...still too cold to go out to the iceshack.
I caught a 7 lb. Pickerel last week and friends have got a 6 lber and a few pike and perch so the fishing has been really good. I seem to be too busy to fish in the spring/summer season so am taking advantage of the winter down time to do some serious fishing.

We have recently been taking bookings for the up coming season so if you are contemplating making a reservation I suggest doing it sooner than later. We still have some weeks available thoroughout July and August and a very good selection of weekends and weeks in the spring. I find that the weather in June is consistently beautiful. Last year guests were swimming on the May Long Weekend.

Well I had better get outside and get some plowing/shovelling done.......

The weather has been just great here at Mountainview Cottage Resort for the most part, rain here and
there when needed and that has been producing some very good fishing.

May Long Weekend...WOW

Hi Everyone. It's too hot.......naaa, just kidding but boy oh boy,was this May long weekend beautiful.

We were very very busy in the weeks...well months actually, leading up to this past weekend and all the hard work sure paid off. The place and cottages look great and many guests commented that they were very impressed with the improvements.....thanks everyone.

So all in all it was a really successful startup for 2010 and we could clearly see that everyone had a great time. In fact if I look out the window right now there are still people in the water, on paddle boats and on the slide......people that thought it was just too nice to go home yesterday.

Well...gotta go.....going in the water.

Wow...the weather has been spectacular, let's hope it continues.
Sorry it has been so long since we posted an update but........we have been so darn busy.!

In addition to the regular chores around the resort we have updated quite a few of the cottages
like painting the kitchens and doors ect. and done the bedroom walls of cottage 3 in pine......and
the floors in both #2 and #3 in pine. I am just at the stage of staining.....it's been an incredible
amount of work....ouchie...I am a bit sore....but it all looks great and we hope that our guests will
be pleased. Oh ya....also finished the front of store up above in pine and have plans for a bit more
of this and that around the place.

Well....I had better run.....lots to do.

Spring is just around the corner.!

Well the weather has been great and the ice on the lake is starting to melt here at Mountainview.
We were away down south in the Florida Keys for awhile and it is great to be home......there
is no place like home. After driving many miles and seeing lots of different scenery.....the setting here
at Mountainview and the beautiful scenery of The Ottawa Valley just can't be beat.!

Now that the snow is almost gone and it is a bit warmer the beach cleanup can begin.....thankfully we
have very few leaves to deal with as we did them in the fall....and what a job that was. I have never seen so many darn leaves in all my life.

We are really excited about the up and coming season and are looking forward to seeing all
the wonderful guests that we met last year....our first year here.
